Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the immense privilege of hosting two vibrant events to officially launch the NPC Deal Book, spotlighting Canada’s next generation of bio-based, sustainable, and impact-driven companies. From Montreal to Vancouver, the energy has been electric, the conversations inspiring, and the sense of shared purpose undeniable.

In Montreal, we kicked things off with a powerful gathering of founders, investors, and ecosystem champions. One of the most memorable moments was our member-only roundtable discussion, where founders opened up about the real challenges and breakthroughs in building their businesses. The insights shared were honest, practical, and immediately helpful to others around the table — a reflection of the generosity and strength of this community. It was a rare space of trust and collaboration that left everyone energized and hopeful.

In Vancouver, the momentum continued with another warm and well-attended event. We started with a showcase of several of our Deal Book participants delivering their pitch to a room of highly enthusiastic investors. Later in our Ask Me Anything session on raising capital — featuring Michelle Siaril (NYA Ventures), Thealzel Lee (e-Fund), and David Weekes (Pangaea Ventures) — was a true highlight. From knowing when you’re really ready to raise, to managing your runway, and understanding investor expectations, the discussion was packed with valuable guidance and candid advice. Whether first-time founder or well into the growth journey, the session offered something for everyone.
Across both cities, we were blown away by the level of engagement from investors, advisors, and ecosystem partners who showed up not just to listen, but to support, connect, and champion our founders. Their presence and enthusiasm affirmed what we already believe: that the Canadian bioeconomy is brimming with opportunity — and it’s powered by remarkable people.
We are incredibly proud of the companies featured in our Deal Book — bold, resilient, and ready to lead in sectors that matter deeply for people, animals, and the planet. These ventures aren’t just good ideas — they’re the seeds of solutions in a $4 trillion global opportunity that’s rapidly taking shape.
These companies, along with our track record of seeing real impacts from our investments, fill us with optimism. Because what we’re building together isn’t just about capital — it’s about community, collaboration, and a commitment to doing better.
