Nutrition Capital Network (NCN), the leading U.S. gateway connecting investors and companies in the nutrition and health & wellness industry, has partnered with Natural Products Canada (NPC) to launch the inaugural NCN-NPC Investor Meeting in Toronto, June 20-21 2017.
“NCN investor meetings have from the beginning attracted interest from the international investment community and from entrepreneurs and growth companies outside the United States,” said Grant Ferrier, president of NCN. “Canada has a thriving community of natural product entrepreneurs, so we believe this is a great time to expand our network into Canada. We are honored to co-host this event with Natural Products Canada.”
“The goal of the NCN-NPC Investor Meeting is to facilitate the financing process for our entrepreneurs and growth companies,” said Shelley King, CEO, Natural Products Canada, which links companies, researchers, investors and others to increase commercialization of natural products. “With greater access to professional capital and potential strategic partners, Canada’s natural products sector will be better positioned to claim a larger piece of this global market.”
Since NCN was founded in 2007, 545 companies have presented at 31 investor meetings in the United States and Europe from a deal flow of more than 2,640 applicants. Through the end of 2015, 271 out of 475 (57%) of presenting companies had completed some form of transaction (many deals take a year or more to complete).
NCN’s 40-plus Cornerstone Investors have a powerful global footprint and include companies like Campbell Soup, Coca-Cola, DSM, General Mills, Kellogg, PepsiCo, Grupo Nutresa, Herbalife, Kerry Group, and Zaluvida. At the NCN-NPC Investor Meeting in Canada, select NCN Cornerstone Investors will be joined by strategic and private equity investors with an eye on opportunities in the Canadian market.
