Nutrition Capital Network and Natural Products Canada Bring Investor Meeting to Canada For Second Year in a Row
San Diego, CA and Toronto, ON – Global business leaders, seasoned investors, and Canada’s most promising nutrition and wellness companies will gather in Toronto on June 27-28 for industry insights, pitch sessions, and networking.
Nutrition Capital Network (NCN), the leading U.S. gateway between investors and companies in the nutrition and health & wellness industry, brings its globally-recognized investor meeting to Canada in partnership with Natural Products Canada (NPC), a not-for-profit corporation that connects companies, investors, researchers, and others to accelerate the commercialization of natural products.
“The opportunities for companies offering nutritious snacks and beverages, and natural health and beauty products are skyrocketing as consumers become more conscious about what they put in their bodies,” says Grant Ferrier, president of NCN. “Our first venture into Canada with the 2017 Investor Meeting revealed a great pool of companies that are ready to take advantage of this growing demand. We are eager to begin working with this year’s cohort.”
Growth stage companies within the nutrition and wellness sectors go through a competitive application and screening process to secure a spot at the event, which culminates in a ten-minute pitch to industry veterans and private and corporate investors seeking new opportunities.
“We are very pleased to show international investors and industry leaders what Canada has to offer,” says Shelley King, CEO, Natural Products Canada. “We have garnered a global reputation for high quality health and nutrition products that stem from our strong research institutions and thorough health and safety regulations. We look forward to working with all delegates to help them attain the market intelligence, partnerships, and investments they are seeking.”
The NCN Investor Meeting is known around the world for its small, deal-focused meetings, and has attracted a strong base of investment companies, including Campbell Soup, Coca-Cola, DSM, General Mills, Kellogg’s, PepsiCo, and Herbalife. Since it was founded in 2007, 545 companies have presented at 31 NCN investor meetings in the United States and Europe, attracting more than 2,640 applicants. Roughly 50% of the companies that pass the screening process find an investment partner.
