The Sales Director will ensure we continue to grow our sales by triple digits for the next several years, meeting – or exceeding – the sales target. Our growth model calls for growing same store sales and at the same time our retail footprint. You will provide the pixie dust to keep these two growth engines in overdrive. Specifically, you will partner with our existing retail customers to create programs to drive same store sales growth. Collaborate with our Brokers and Distributors to increase Points of Distribution. Create a compelling brand experience at consumer/trade shows. Develop partnerships to build brand awareness and drive sales. Analyze, Strategize, and Execute ideas to grow.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop vision, strategy and plans to drive top-line growth and bottom-line profitability for Canadian and US market
- Analyze research and consumer insights, translate insights into action for projects
- Spend time with key accounts and vendors to understand and identify business critical issues to ensure the alignment of tactics and strategies
- Lead and mentor sales associate which will grow in terms of head count
- Prospect, develop and optimize account sales
- Ensure a return on sales for the region and its receivables
- Represent the company during promotional activities and at various events such as tradeshows
- Negotiate and conclude sales contracts in accordance with company policy
Profile
- Advanced strategic thinking and experience with broad strategy development across channel, brand, category, or customer. Forward looking vision & anticipation of future needs
- Strong business acumen
- Experience with collaborating and influencing
- Ability to translate strategy into high impact marketing tools, commercial plans, and selling materials
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record of delivering sustainable results
- Established history of successfully adapting business and sales strategies to address challenges in a rapidly evolving marketplace
- Ability to build consensus, manage relationships, and solve problems; commitment to working with shared leadership in cross-functional teams
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Strong customer service orientation and listening skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM databases
- Bilingual is considered an asset
Experience
- Sales: 5 -10 years in food industry (Required)
- Experience with scaling up a growing brand will be preferred
Language
- English
- Good knowledge of French will be an asset
