  • Ten Years of NPC: A Celebration in Halifax

    July 21, 2026

On July 7, Natural Products Canada continued its 10th anniversary celebrations in Halifax, the latest stop in our cross-country anniversary series. Hundreds of delegates, NPC member exhibitors, sponsors, and partners gathered for a trade show and an evening dinner. It was a fitting way to honour a decade of driving bioeconomy impact and growth, in the region where much of the NPC story began.

    The Innovation Showcase

The show floor was buzzing from the moment the doors opened. Thirty Atlantic Canadian companies from the NPC portfolio took the floor, spanning six sectors: supplements, biomaterials, personal care, ingredients, food, and biofertilizers. From seaweed bioplastics to sea cucumber powder to sparkling non-alcoholic wine, the tables told the story of what happens when Canadian innovation moves from lab to market.

The afternoon was full of the kind of connections that make these events special. Delegates got hands-on with the products, founders swapped stories and business cards, and more than a few new partnerships took root between the tables. We were delighted to welcome Senator Colin Deacon, who spent time with exhibitors and delegates throughout the show.

As Shelley King, our Founder and CEO, put it in her welcome message: “The companies celebrating with us today are not waiting for a strategy. They are the strategy.”

    An Evening at Pazzo

As the trade show wound down, the celebration moved to Pazzo for our anniversary dinner, generously sponsored by KGK Science. The evening brought great food, remarks from Shelley and our sponsors, and even better company. It was the perfect way to cap off ten years and toast the decade ahead.

    Thank You to Our Sponsors

This celebration would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors: CJ Foods, Cox & Palmer, RBCx, and ChangeMakers. Their support reflects a shared commitment to Canada’s bioeconomy and the innovators driving it forward. We are deeply grateful for their partnership.

    One More Thing

Every delegate went home with a bag full of products contributed by NPC member companies from across the country. What was inside? That deserves a post of its own. Stay tuned for a closer look at the delegate bag, coming soon.
