Abdul Khogali brings deep expertise in synthetic biology, biomaterials, and climate technology commercialization to Natural Products Canada as Regional Director for Ontario. He has built and supported multiple startups at the intersection of science and sustainability, securing over $20M in funding, closing multi-million dollar deals with Fortune 500s, and forging strategic partnerships with global companies to advance transformative technologies from lab to market.

Previously, Abdul led venture creation in biotechnology and materials at Newlab’s venture studio in New York, launching companies in cellular agriculture. He drove strategy and growth as COO at Genecis and later as CEO at Materia. Abdul is recognized for his ability to bridge technical innovation with commercial strategy, guiding cross-functional teams through complex scaling challenges.

Abdul combines a background in biopharmaceutical sciences and environmental science with hands-on venture building experience. His track record in fundraising, commercialization, and ecosystem partnerships positions him as a valuable partner for organizations advancing the next generation of deep tech and climate solutions.

Abdul received his Bachelor’s degree in Biopharmaceutical Science from the University of Ottawa and his Master of Environmental Science, specializing in biophysical interactions in terrestrial and aquatic systems, from the University of Toronto.
