Patti Miller, MSc

Patti Miller is a retired senior executive and respected leader in Canada’s agri-food and grains sector, with a distinguished career spanning government, industry associations, and the private sector. Most recently, she served as Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission, where she provided leadership to the federal regulatory agency responsible for maintaining Canada’s grain quality standards and overseeing grain handling to support domestic and export markets.

Earlier in her career, Patti was President of the Canola Council of Canada. In this role, she led the development of a national industry strategy and guided the sector through complex trade, regulatory, and market access challenges, including high-profile negotiations affecting exports to China. She is widely recognized for her ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders across the value chain—from producers and processors to exporters, scientists, and regulators.

Throughout her career, Patti demonstrated strong strategic, governance, and operational leadership, particularly in complex and resource-constrained environments. Her professional experience includes large-scale program delivery, senior policy development, market analysis, communications, and corporate affairs roles within both government and multinational agribusiness. Patti holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and continues to be known for her commitment to integrity, collaboration, and advancing sustainable growth in Canada’s agri-food sector.
