Scott Farrow, PhD, MSc

Regional Director, Ontario

Scott Farrow brings extensive expertise in synthetic biology, biomanufacturing, and commercialization to Natural Products Canada as Regional Director for Ontario. Most recently serving in senior leadership roles with biotechnology start-ups in Ontario, he has guided companies through the challenges of scaling biomanufacturing technologies, building strategic partnerships, and advancing innovation from lab to market.

Scott has contributed to the growth of Canada’s bioeconomy by spearheading the development of biomanufacturing programs for post-secondary institutions such as Fleming College. His international experience, gained in the United Kingdom, complements his extensive work across Canada’s innovation ecosystem, where he has developed strong expertise in intellectual property strategy and the university research system.

As a highly accomplished scientist, Scott is widely recognized for his ability to connect entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry partners to accelerate growth. His start-up leadership, international perspective, and deep network in biotechnology will be invaluable in his role as Regional Director, Ontario, supporting NPC’s mission to advance Canada’s natural products sector.

Scott received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary and his M.Sc. in Environmental and Life Sciences from Trent University.
