Q: What’s the origin story of your company?  

A: Growing up in sunny Saskatchewan – the land of living skies and endless regenerative farm fields – sisters Laura and Carla learned as kids that food doesn’t magically appear at the grocery store, but it grows in our backyard.  As adults, while Laura was working in healthcare, they learned first-hand how what we eat can significantly impact our health. Dropping in on nutrition classes, Laura was introduced to the thing that would change our lives forever – protein packed pulses. These little plants can feed the world and save our planet. Thus began their passion for pulses and the creation of Ulivit where they are trying to share the incredible benefits of Canadian-grown pulses with everyone.  

Q: What’s the best thing anyone has said about your product so far?  

A: “I just made my first package…and I cannot get over the texture AND flavour!  I am so blown away, thank you so much for creating this soy free protein product. I’ll be placing a large order very soon to pass out to friends to experience.  Your product is amazing!”    

Q: What’s the most rewarding thing about building your company so far?  

A: We really love creating food that is good for people and the planet. We also really enjoy when our customers share that they love our food and that it is made with local ingredients.  

Q: What are the top 1-3 things that you’re focused on right now?  

A: We are focused on growing our distribution and growing our community. 

Q: What is your key objective in attending CHFA?  

A: CHFA will give us the perfect opportunity to launch our newest product line, and connect with more retail partners.
